We are currently looking for Recruitment Analysts to join our New York team here at OJ, to add to our exciting year of growth.

What will you be doing?


The role of a recruiter is varied and rewarding, it centres around building and maintaining relationships and networks within your chosen specialism in order to match the right candidates with the right opportunities.

Ultimately, it's a high output, phone based sales role; you'll use your powers of influence and business development to ensure you are working on the most sought-after roles, and representing the highest calibre candidates.

You'll be undertaking tasks such as:

  • Cold Calling Clients & Candidates
  • Headhunting the best talent in your marketplace
  • Elevating relationships with our existing candidate network
  • Delivering on client vacancies
  • Generating leads, referrals and other commercial information
  • Prepping and debriefing for interviews
  • Taking candidates to market & developing your own client hiring network
  • Operate as a consultative partner for both clients and candidates, providing expert recruitment advice
  • All Recruiters at Oliver James operate in 360 roles, proactively headhunting candidates and developing and establishing new business relationships
  • The successful applicant will be focused on a specific desk, working closely with the existing team, sharing information and contacts, and taking advantage of our extensive existing client base.
  • You will be responsible for achieving set targets.
  • Defining client requirements whilst mapping out the organisational structure, the culture and client's annual growth plans
  • Networking with candidates and clients frequently, organising networking events and client presentations
  • Negotiating commercial terms with FTSE 150 companies, understanding the implication of the PSL for both permanent and contract hires
  • Cross selling other disciplines and incorporating other business areas into the relationships cultivated

What do we need from you?

  • No experience in the Recruitment industry is necessary, but transferable experience would be preferred (sales experience in a b2b role, exposure to markets we cover i.e. Financial Services etc).
  • You will have a natural flair for sales, desire to build relationships, bags of ambition and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • You will thrive in an environment that directly rewards you for effort and work you do via commission and trajectory in your career.
  • You're prepared to work hard and have a genuine passion and interest in the recruitment sector, thrive in a target driven environment, and are relentlessly committed to your own learning and development, just as much as we are!
